If you have not had a lot of soy milk before, this might not be the best starter soy milk option. WildWood has a stronger soybean taste to it, so it is best for those who have developed a little more of an acquired taste already. I would say Silk's organic unsweetened soy milk is a better option if you are looking for something with less of a soybean taste. That said, this organic soy milk has 70 calories per serving, or 10 fewer calories than Silk, so if you are trying to shave calories, this helps a bit. This is also better nutritionally: it has more Vitamin A, B vitamins and iron, and is a good source of Vitamin K (Silk has no Vitamin K). Whichever soy milk you choose, I strongly recommend buying the unsweetened kind, as the others just have added sugar in something that really doesn't require sugar. We have way too much sugar in our diets without adding in more from something like milk. When you get accustomed to unsweetened soy milk, the other varieties will begin to taste overly sweet and unappealing.

Silk is a super great soy option: one of the best tastin' brands, mega nutritious and available just about anywhere. It is also all natural too, whereas ones like 8th Continent are not. But don't forget to make sure and get the vanilla flavored LIGHT version... this is because the plain version doesn't taste so great and the regular (non-light) version is higher in calories (100 versus 80). You will have a new very healthful (high in protein, Vitamin A, C, & D, and calcium) and tasty milk alternative! If you are looking for a soy milk that is also packed with nutrition, but has a much sweeter taste, try WestSoy Longevity soy milk - it's awesome and has added fiber (and has the same amount of added sugar as Silk)!

Cutting sugar out of our diets is a tall order - I know, I don't eat much dessert, I'm trying REALLY hard, and I still take in more than the recommended 40 grams per day. I'm convinced that those that say they don't eat sugar are simply not counting how much they consume...as it is in practically everything we eat. All that said, I'm really happy delicious unsweetened products like this one that are hitting the market. Silk's soy quality is so high that you hardly miss the sugar. You do taste the soy bean more without the sugar, which some may not like. Drinking this milk does a body good: it's naturally high in protein, potassium and omega 3s, and is cholesterol free and virtually saturated fat free. It is also fortified with calcium, antioxidants and B vitamins.
