| Regular Luna bars are the perfect thing to have before a workout - a delicious source of nutrients and energy that will keep you going (I have one almost every day before a workout). These all natural Sunrise bars are very similar in taste and texture, but are formulated a little differently especially for your morning. They have more fiber and Vitamin C and the same amount of Vitamin D for a good kick start. I tried this blueberry flavor, and it has blueberry gel-like "frosting" with the same crispy bar you are used to from Luna bar. I really like the fact that these have more fiber, so I will definitely rotate these into my breakfast schedule. |

I was finally able to find the new Cranberry Walnut flavor of Kashi's fantastic Fruit & Grain bars, so if you haven’t yet tried it, here is my two cents about it.
The Taste: If you've had the other flavors of Kashi's Fruit & Grain bars, you know that the top is covered with a sticky, gewy, delicious topping with nuts or coconut. In this case, it is a cranberry gew with walnuts, obviously, but for some reason, this one is stickier than the others. It ends up sticking to the wrapper and making it really hard to open. For me, this one just isn't as good as the dark chocolate coconut (which tastes like a healthy mounds bar) or the pumpkin "pie" flavors. They taste more like dessert, while this one just tasted a little more like the average nutrition bar because the cranberry gew was a little bland.
The Nutrition: The bars are great nutritionally because they are all natural, high in fiber and a good source of protein and whole grains (which makes the fact that they are only 120 calories even more amazing as you can lose weight while eating healthfully). The best part is that these bars are relatively low in sugar, which is a rare find for bars, especially ones that are this sweet tasting. I recommend these to parents who are trying to get their kids to eat snacks that are lower in sugar since the other flavors can pass for dessert.

| These new 120 calorie Kashi bars are so fabulous that I'm sure they are raisin' the bar for all bars everywhere. They have rich, creamy dark chocolate with sprinkled coconut flakes and nuts on top that make them taste more like chocolate bars than breakfast bars. These are also high in fiber, a good source of protein and are all natural (which makes the fact that they are only 120 calories even more amazing as you can lose weight while eating healthfully). Plus these bars are available at regular grocery stores, so they are easy to find. For pumpkin pie lovers, Kashi also has a version with cinnamon and nutmeg spiced pumpkin "pie" with pecans on top that I've heard others completely rave about. |
