| Sargento*, THE cheese pro, has us cheese fiends all aglow with their oodles of new reduced fat varieties hitting the shelves. This tasty 50 calorie colby-jack cheese is the lowest out there...conveniently wrapped in an easy snack pack. These are also a good source of protein and calcium. Sargento does use rennets (enzymes) from synthetic microbial sources (which is why Sargento is not all natural). However, because it is so difficult to find reduced fat natural cheeses, I would rather cut down on fat than go with all natural, as saturated fats are very harmful to our health. |
| * Sargento contains rennets (enzymes) from synthetic microbial (non-animal) sources. |

| Gotta love Land O Lakes - good quality dairy. This reduced fat cheese shaves 30 calories off of their regular variety, and is really rich tasting. However, nutrition-wise, these are no comparison to Sargento's colby jack cheese sticks - Land O Lakes have 60 calories versus Sargento's 50 calories (for FEWER grams) and have 2g less protein. Given that Sargento is just as tasty, I'd go with Sargento. |
| The enzymes used for producing this natural cheese come from a microbial (non-animal) source. |
