You know how skim milk seems to have that watery taste that makes you resist buying it? Well, this fat free version from Hood doesn't taste fat free at all! Also, lots of protein and Vitamin C (which you will not get from soy milks or non-dairy alternatives). What a score! If you haven't tried it, you gotta give it a whirl. Hood does not use artificial growth hormones.

This is not my favorite organic milk as far as taste, but it has the fewest calories (of COURSE!). It is still very good (the difference is negligible), so I'd opt to go with the fewest calories. The nice part is that it isn't watery at all, it just doesn't have the richer flavor that Horizon and Organic Valley have. I liked it better than 365 Organic milk though. Horizon is the best tasting. Organic milk in general is by far and away more healthful than regular milk: it contains more vitamins, antioxidants, omega-3 and CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid). Our bodies do not make CLA, so we have to get this immunity & metabolism booster in our diets. It also helps reduce belly fat!

Other than the health benefits of choosing organic, I decided that another perk is that organic fat free milk doesn't taste near as watery as regular fat free milk. If you want to switch to fat free but do not like the taste, try Horizon organic milk. This is my favorite of the organic milks I've tried (the others being Organic Valley, Stonyfield Farms and 365 Organic). It is definitely richer and tastes less like fat free milk than the others, but has 10 calories more than Stoneyfield Farms (and the same number of calories as 365 Organic and Organic Valley).

This is good - it is lactose free, so great option for those who are lactose intolerant. It also claims to be made through a process that helps make it stay fresher longer. As far as taste, I thought Horizon was much better if you don't require lactose free milk (it has the same number of calories). This is still richer than regular fat free milk, so a great option for those trying to switch to fat free who don't want to give up richer tasting milk. The lowest calorie organic milk I could find is Stonyfield Farms, which has 10 fewer calories and tasted almost identical, so if calories is your only concern, I would go with that.

This was my least favorite of the 4 organic milks I tried, and even at that, it is better than most regular fat free milks. If you are aiming to cut calories, go with Stonyfield Farms and save 10 calories. However, this brand will save you some money, so if you are looking to go organic and don't want to pay the higher price, this is a good compromise.
