So I can't say I'm a huge Boca Burger fan, as I much prefer Morningstar Farms (sorry to all you Boca Burger die-hards out there - I know there are drones of you). However, when it comes to meatless grounds, there is no comparison. Boca Burger's grounds take the ground prize. These have virtually no fat, fewer calories and taste totally great. Also, veggie grounds are the easiest things to cook (WAY easier than ground burger or turkey), have no cholesterol and way less fat...however, in general, they have about 10 fewer grams of protein than ground turkey or beef. These bits are perfect for making super quick veggie burritos or "meatlike" pasta sauce. For me, I'm totally down with the Boca ground.

These are a great ground meat substitute - they have a really good taste, are low in calories & fat and have no cholesterol. Calorie-wise and fat wise, Jennie-O ground turkey has just about the same (or at least in cals/gram, or calorie density), however, if you are a vegetarian or cutting cholesterol out, this is a REALLY great option. These have a nice firm texture too and are more meat-like, which can be tough to find in veggie meat substitutions.

Hmm...not sure what to say on this one. The good news is that it is VERY moist, especially for a veggie option. It is also really, really good for you...packed with protein, potassium, iron, vitamins, and minerals, not to mention that it is cholesterol free and virtually fat free. However, it is quite a bit different than other meat substitutes I have tried. The fact that it is vegan is probably why. It tastes like it is made from mushrooms, although there are none in the ingredients, so I don't know why it tastes like that. If you are a fan of mushrooms, you will probably like this substitute more than I did. I have to admit though, once it was mixed in with pasta and sauce, I thought it was pretty good.
